Christmas cards

Well after careful consideration we have decided that we are going to continue sending Christmas cards at least another year. With all the things we have cut out of the Christmas season it just seemed like cards mean so much to me. I love sending and receiving them. So off to Walmart and the post office we went yesterday for a box of cards and some Christmas stamps. We are really trying to ignore all the commercialism and enjoy the season for the season. I know we are not the only ones that won't have a big pile of presents under the tree but that doesn't matter as much this year. I have been taking stock and I have so much to be grateful for. So what if I don't get that perfect pancake maker or chia pet. I have a wonderful family, great dogs, and the best friends in the world. So we are going to put up a small tree, do some decorating, listen to some Christmas music, watch some Christmas movies, go see some Christmas lights and bake some goodies. That surely will give us plenty of Christmas overload along with our annual Christmas Eve bash at Sonnet's and Christmas Day at Mom & Dad's. Tis the season to show some love on a limited budget.

  1. I'm right there with you Carla. For the most part, we will be having an imagination Christmas again this year. LOL I am so sick of all the commercials trying to tell me that if I don't buy someone a huge gift that I don't love them! Time spent with loved ones is enough of a gift for me!! Send me your addy on FB and I'll send you a card for the holidays!!

  2. I hear you loud and clear, woman. The commercialism is out of control during the holiday season. And I'm only sending cards to those who send me cards. Scroogey, I know.

And I have what I really want for xmas. My family, friends and canine unit. How bountiful!

And I can totally relate. It has been a year of many medical expenses and many more to come next year. Not to mention I am to exhausted to shop anyway. My Christmas gift is going to be Christmas dinner for everyone.
