It's all in the eye of the beholder.

I was just remembering a funny story from back in the time when Ed & I were running an in home daycare business and thought I'd write it down. When we first opened the daycare, Ed was building a play area for the smaller children that had a fence around it and easy access to the bathroom and drinking fountain. One of the older boys came up and said  and I quote, "I just don't think it is right how some people can build cages to keep other people's kids in" So while we were just trying to make a safe play area he felt we were caging them in. We have had many laughs with this story and think of Dylan often and wonder if he ever got over his fear of being caged in.

  1. That's so funny. :) I referred to Ayden's playpen as "the cage."

  2. We always called Destiny's "The Pen". Of course we didn't use a playpen when Sonnet was a baby because we had a lot more energy, were alot younger and a hell of a lot dummer. By the time Destiny was born I said to hell with the experts, we are pinning this one up when we need a moment to to move our eyes off the child. Just another memory.

  3. Too funny, I can totally relate! Sometimes, penning them in is the only thing you can do. I used to put up a baby gate in the playroom while cooking to keep them all in one spot and out of trouble!
I often wonder about the little ones I watched over the years and how they are now. I only have contact with a few of them now.
