A picture speaks a thousand words

This picture hangs on the wall by my recliner and has since Tori was in second grade. She drew this picture for us on "Grandparent's Day" at her school. I've studied it over the years and noticed that she really got us captured as if her mind was a camera. Look at my curly hair (which is no longer curly) Our glasses, Ed's beard and the way we have flowers, trees, & leaves floating above our heads. (and maybe a few butterflies) lol

Joseph "Joe" Carter

I shed my first tear for Joe this morning after his passing on Friday. We used to be really close to Joe and his wife Jodie and with the way of life we had gone our seperate ways. It was no big falling out or anything, just a  growing apart thing. I just quit going over and then Ed and Randy kept going over and even they finally quit going over to their house. Joe was an avid fisherman and he loved the river with a passion. He loved camping, fishing, boating, biking, & skateboarding. He also loved rock music. Especially Metallica and Disturbed. He passed so quickly at the age of 32 that quite a few of us never got to say a proper goodbye. So to Joe RIP you will be sadly missed and to the rest of us hold your friends and family a little closer and longer each time you say goodbye.

If you like wild game

Another restaurant we visited while in Texas offered some unusual food to an old Indiana gal like me. It was called Fuddrukkers and they served wild boar, elk, buffalo, & ostrich among other things.

Chuy"s

When in Texas for the wedding of our youngest daughter we had the pleasure of eating the most awesome authentic Mexcian food at a place called Chuy's. We liked it so much we actually went there twice. I don't think it had anything to do with the margarittas.

Cat crossing

Our grandaughter Tori as you all know has many pets. The one I want to talk about today is her cat Oscar. Randy brought this kitten home from an old barn cat and he instantly became a part of three families. Theirs, ours,  and Grandma & Grandpa Cobbs'. He walks over to Grandma & Grandpa Cobbs' every morning and meows until they go out on the porch and say Good Morning to him and give him a hot dog. (even though Tori feeds him cat chow every morning and evening) His day is just not right till he has a hot dog so Grandma and Grandpa Cobbs make sure to keep a package on hand. He comes over here and occassionally forgets to go home so he spends the night on our porch and wakes us up at the crack of dawn so he can go out and go potty (since we do not have a catbox over here) because our crazy little dog would try to eat his deposits. Gross!,  and then he saunters over to see the Cobbs' then makes his way home so they can make all over him and say where were you all night.(even though they have caught on to his little trick of sleeping  here some nights. He is a very beautiful , furry black and white cat and is so fast he actually catches squirrels. Even though we try to break him of that habit because we feed our squirrels over here and it seems a little unfair to the critters to lure them to out tree with an ear of corn  and then to their death. I guess we will have to put a bell on his collar so they can hear him coming.
